Showhunter Day at Thames Valley Adult Riding Club, 3 disciplines points series

As a result of Nelson damaging his eye severly in late January I have not been able to venture far from home. Currently in early April he is still stabled daily and has numerous ointments and powders administered throughout the day. Subsequently the summer competitions came tyo an end for me and Shamrock as Steve and I cared for Nelson- I feel like my right hand has been cut off as I have always found him to be invaluable with starting the young horses. I have to rethink some of my strategies.

Whooppee! Exciting combination goes Reserve Champion Level One

In early December 2007 at the Auckland Manukau Dressage Group Festival of Dressage the consistent combination of welsh cob x tb B. Shamrock and rider Samantha Winn accumulated 9 points to win Reserve Champion for Level One.

During the two days of competition they rode in four tests. They improved with each test going from 6th place (on grass) for test 1.1, 4th (on Cushionride) for test 1.3, 2nd for test 1.4 and yet another first in test 1.6. Shammy revelled in the atmosphere and I noticed she enjoyed moving to the music being played in the Novice Musical Freestyle.

Ballytruckle Shilelagh wins two championships at Royal Canterbury Show

Ballytruckle Shilelagh 50% Welsh Cob X 50% Tb wins two championships at 2007 Royal Canterbury Show under International and National judges. She won the In Hand Champion Partbred Welsh then next day she won the Champion Ridden Novice Cob.

Standing at 154cm she is a lovely example of the Welsh Cob X Tb being out of an Indian Ore mare by Mill Creek Valiant. She is proudly owned by Gail Hough whose daughter Emma rides her in shows. To win an In-Hand Championship and a Ridden Championship at a show of this calibre is a great achievement. Well done.
